Is 3rd Hand Cigarette Smoke Exposure A Risk For Me And Kids?

I live in a house built in the 1960’s, it’s been over 10 years since anyone has smoked inside my house, but if I’m away from my house for 3 days or more, when I first step into the house I can smell faint cigarette smoke. Will a whole-house air purifier, added onto my furnace, remove the risk of 3rd hand cigarette smoke for me and my kids?

I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that passive smoking some more harmful than the active smoking and the smoker should never allow to smoke in the house it should be strictly prohibited, of course such cigarette smoke can harm the children, hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
