Ejection fraction is the % of the blood pumped out of the ventricle after a beat. The important thing to understand is that your heart doesn't pump 100% of the blood out of the ventricles with each beat, otherwise your ventricle would be completely empty and collapsed at the end of a heartbeat. Hearts don't work that way, and always keep a residual volume of blood in them. So just know that your heart keeps some blood in it at all times so although 63% may seem low, this is actually normal. Low is below 40%--this is when somebody is classified with systolic heart failure.
