Is ACF And The Inability To Stick Out One S Tongue Related?

My son has Cayler Syndrome with ACF. He s a year now and his heart problems have corrected themselves. I was wandering if his in ability/unwillingness to stick out his tongue has anything to do with this? He has no other disabilities other than the ACF now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the issue of Cayler syndrome correlates to usual association with hypoplasia or aplasia of depressor angula oris muscle of the lower lip.

And the same must be associated with the inability to protrude the tongue or associated tongue tie may be one of the striking features. It is recommended to consult him to his paediatrician without delay.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
