Is ALP Value Of 154 A Cause For Concern?

I am a 65 year old female with rheumatoid arthritis. I have been off my RA medications for about 3 weeks. A recent blood test showed that I have an elevated ALP of 154. A previous blood test showed my ALP level was 141. Should I be worried? Thank you so much.

Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Although 165 of ALP is high according to accepted standards but it is not too high to get worried.

Having said this it is important to monitor at frequent intervals. This is important because a rise of 25 may be a lab error but if the ALP continue to rise over time it is ominous sign.

To conclude you do not need to worried but need to be extra cautious and requested to repeat ALP checking in three months time.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
