Hi, I m 31 weeks pregnant and started to have regular contractions (every 5/7 min) yesterday. Came to the maternity, where they gave me progesterone (utrogestan) but with no effect. Then, they gave me Adalat Retard 20mg. That almost completely stop the contractions for 5 hours, but they are returning now. They gave me another adalat pill after 6/7h. But I was reading online it is for high blood pressure? My blood pressure was normal. And also there are not known effects on the baby, so I m afraid to continue to take this medication. Is it something gynaecologists would prescribe to avoid preterm labour?
