Is Advil The Right Medicine For Muscle Stiffness In The Knee?

Thank you... I m Gloria . I seem to benefit from 200 mg advil instead of my prescribed 800 mg ibuprofen. I take this medicine for relief from muscle stiffness in the knee joints. Can you offer why and what the differences could be for the difference in results?

Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, at times even difference of trade names impart a difference in efficacy and it can be related to processes of pharmacology called pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.

Apart from that yes you can use it. Other analgesics like Acetaminophen can be used alongside. Muscle relaxants like Tizanidine may also be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
