Is Altavera The Same As Portia?

Are Altavera and Portia exactly the same? My 15 y/o daughter was on Altavera for a month, and the pharmacy just switched her to Portia. She has been nauseated and vomiting daily for the three ays since the switch. She may have a stomach bug, but could it be the medication?

Hello!
Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Incomplete data like purpose of taking Altavera??
Yes, both the brands contain the same drug combination Levnorgestrel+Ethinyl estradiol) which is generally used to prevent pregnancy and other conditions.
Portia has a fixed strength of Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg and Ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg.
However, the strength of Altavera is variable.
Nausea and vomiting could be due to change of the refill medication.

Take Care!

Regards,
