Is Amoxicillin The Right Medicine For Yeast Infection?

Hi I have a question regarding a yeast infection. I was on amoxicillin 500mg for a week and it gave me a bad yeast infection it is currently blood tinged, should I be concerned or will the yeast infection go away once I am done with antibiotics and continue to take probiotics?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Amoxicilin will not act against the yeast infection
Amoxicilin is an antibiotic
I would suggest to use antifungal drugs to cure yeast infection
Drugs like fluconazole will help you
You can also apply clotrimazole cream
Maintain hygiene
Eat healthy diet and drink plenty of water
Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
