MY WIFE IS 83,120 LBS,5 6 . she was diagnosed with alz in dec,2012. she is currently on donepezil, 10 mg twice daily, lisinopril 10 mg once daily, citalopram 10 mg once daily, aspirin 85 mg once daily. i have read about a drug called amyloban3399 that is purported to be better and safer than donepezil. i am wondering if what she is now taking is doing her more harm than good from what i ve heard about donepezil ! Should i drop the donepezil and go to amyloban3399?
It would be imprudent to shift to a herbal preparation that isn't standardized and medically recommended. Donepezil has proven efficacy and is a safer bet to prevent drug interactions, as in your case, where you are on multiple medications.
