Is Atarax Safe For A Child With Atopic Dermatitis?
My son has atopic dermatitis by birth . He is going to be 10 year old in 3 months. Weight 61 kg, height 154 cm. He had severe inflammation and itchiness in whole body. Maximum in legs, wrists, fingers, arms Doctor suggested cyclosporin capsules called psorid 100mg 3 times a day for 20 days In addition xyzal which is levocetrizine hydrochloride twice a day Also Atarax which is hydroxyzine hydrochloride at bedtime Plus application of clobetasol gel on affectex area twice a day Ate these safe medicines for a child Noticed a hump like shape developing on his back, just below neck. Could this be due to psorid he took for 20 days. Doctor wants to extend another 20 days. Is it ok Skin is smooyh and itchines gone with psorid. Creatinine an BP ok too

Is Atarax Safe For A Child With Atopic Dermatitis?
Hi, Your son seems obese. The hump on neck may be due to obesity. Consult the doctor who works for obesity. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin disease. Atarax is a safe antihistaminic. You may give him. Cyclosporine should be given carefully. I hope this would guide you for your son. Thanks. Dr.Ilyas Patel MD
