Is Atorvastatin Safe Post A Triple Bypass Surgery?

I have had a triple bypass surgery in Feb of this year. I just noticed that one of my medications is (atorvastatin. In 2002 I found out that the Lipitor that I was take had caused me to have miositis. I have been off medication since 2006 when I lost my insurance. I am calling my Dr tomorrow but just curious what you would say.
