Is Autism, Related With Facial Tics In Children?

I have a student who came with a preliminary diagnosis of autism. She did seem to be a typical autistic student for the last two years. She's changed since June. Now, she appears to be either talking and laughing to herself or having facial tics. She is not very responsive and avoids eye contact when asked questions. But sometimes, however, she will ask or answer a question as if there is absolutely nothing wrong. She has also been rude and disrescpectful to adults at school, as well. What might be her condition?
