Is Azithral Safe For Treatment Of Cold And Cough In An Infant?
Hello Doctor My daughter is having cold n cough .She is having running nose n lil chest congestion .She will be 2 yrs nxt month..I ve given her maxtra P syrup 2 times today 3 ml ...also I have given her nasoclear saline drops once .. chemist nearby suggested to give azithral to her along with it ...my paediatric also prescribed azithral 200 to my daughter 6 monthsago ..can I give her now also d dosage
Azithral (Azithromycin) is an antibiotic. It can be given to infant above 6 months at prescribed dosage. I would recommend Azithral to my patients only if there are symptoms of bacterial infections like sore throat with sputum production. I would recommend you to start antibiotics only under paediatrician's guidance and complete the full course of antibiotics as prescribed. Hope the above information helps you. Thank you for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
