Is Azithromycin Advisable Post Intake Of Lexapro For Severe Cold And Cough?

I just received a call from the Pharmacy after I picked up 250 mg azithromycin tablets z -pak. Telling me that I might not want to take them as I have taken Lexapro 10 mg for one month. My last tablet was 4 days ago. taking them together could cause issues... I have a very bad cold, cough,fever...... what are the chances since the Lexapro was taken 4 days ago...? what are your thought...

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe cold and cough which could be due to upper respiratory tract infection especially viral infection and it could be due to sinusitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles and betadine gargles alternatively. You should give steam inhalation to child and avoid giving spicy and heavy food and consult pediatrician for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test and blood test for complete examination. Doctor may prescribe antiviral medications such as acyclovir along with anti inflammatory Levocetirizine. Yes you can take Azithromycin post intake of Lexapro. You should apply mist humidifiers in room. You should give child warm water to sip on frequent basis.
