Recently I ve been to the doc for a chlamydia case, my partner at that time had told me she was positive with it. So, seeing as I already knew the issue at hand, I went to my doc and told him what was up and that I d like to go with the azithromycin route. Now, before my partner had said anything, I noticed there was snot colored discharge coming out of my urethra and a slight burn when I urinated. I didn t think much of this seeing as my partner had already been tested and told it was Chlamydia. It s been a week now and everything has cleared up, no snot colored discharge, and thank God that I can urinate as comfortably as urinating can be. Except, I tested positive for Gonorrhea, not chlamydia. I don t enjoy pointing fingers, but I had no symptoms before my partner and somehow I ve got gonorrhea, whereas she doesn t. She has been notified so that she can go ahead and get the shot, just in case. But my question is, can 1 g of azithromycin treat gonorrhea and if not how fast and effective is the ceftriaxone IM shot? It s only been in my system for a day now, but I really felt it working yesterday in the afternoon. I ve done some studying of my own, but I want something more set in stone then something from, let say 2010 to, really, now. I want to be the most up to date that I can be with these things.
