Is Benzonatate The Right Medicine For Cold And Cough?

I have a cold with a very bad cough tomorrow will be one week of onset , not subsiding got perscription yesterday for tablets called ic benzonatatate 100 mg three times a day when will there be improvement, is this a good Med for this virus cough , that had me cough all day and all night

This medication is used to treat coughs caused by the common cold and other breathing problems (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma). It works by reducing the reflex in the lungs that causes the urge to cough. Along with above drug you have to use antibiotics and expectorants. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking. Use tablet Amoxiclav thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
