Thank you for your query.

A C-section is done when a normal delivery is not possible due to either maternal factors (narrow pelvis, undilated cervix, hypertension, heart disease, genital infections) or fetal factors (complicated position, head not fixed in pelvis, large size of the baby, fetal distress)

The time taken for a fetus to develop completely, enough to survive outside the mother's body, is 37 weeks from the date of the last period. Anytime before this is too soon.
There are certain medication that can accelerate lung maturation in a fetus so that he/she may breathe on their own when born before term (37 weeks).

However, depending on the gestational age (how far along you are - 30weeks for you), other organs systems will have not developed completely.

Ideally, medicines to stop your contractions, complete bed rest (sometimes with head slightly lower than feet), treatment of associated problems, if present and medication to enhance fetal lung maturation is the main stay of treatment.

I recommend that you continue with pregnancy, provided there are no contraindications to continue so. Contractions can be controlled and if not, worst case scenario is that baby will be born premature and will need months of intensive care.
Based on the progress a treatment plan will be made and adjusted accordingly.

Hope this helps and that you and your baby will be safe and healthy.
