Is CT Scan Essential When One Hits Back, Neck And Head While Falling?

My 42 year old daughter slipped on wet 4 wooden steps off enclosed porch and hit her back, neck and head as she fell to the ground below. She went to doctor and they recommended CT scan, but she is just sore now and seems to be better. Should she have had the scan?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Falling cause injury to neck, back and head.
Test order should be decided by physical examination.
If there is no severe pain and no fainting then nothing to worry.
But if there is fainting, sever pain, bleeding from injured site, difficulty in walking, tenderness then CT scan should be advisable to confirm
Brain injury/hemorrhage, spine injury because worsening of symptoms occur after sometime and urgent treatment require.
Hope this may help you

Contact further if follow up needed
Best regards
