Is Caldwell-Luc Surgery Painful?

Hi doctor, I m having a caldwell-luc surgery in a few weeks and was just wondering where and how much pain i ll be feeling after surgery, will i be able to eat normal food like bread chips etc and will i be able to brush my teeth normally with toothpaste?

Hi,

Usually it gets better within 5 days if the incision is not more then 1-2 mm but avoid things like use of straw and also avoid things that can increase your blood pressure.You should take liquid diet first and then if you feel you can gradually change your diet from semi-liquid to soft diet. Brushing in that particular area should be avoided.
