Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Minoxidil and Oral finasteride are the only approved treatment for hereditary hair loss.
Minoxidil is available in a solution with an alcohol base which can cause dryness, flaking and dandruff.
This can be circumvented by using a minoxidil preparation which contains a lower concentration of alcohol as base and by using an OTC ketoconazole based cleansing shampoo, once daily.
Regarding the other preparation that you inquired for, it is a ducray product. It is an OTC product. The active ingredients present in it i.e sabal serrulate and lauric acid and ruscus are not approved for hereditary hair loss and there are no scientific studies for it.
Therefore In my view Minoxidil is the way to go for in your case. If I was the treating doctor I would have also added once daily finasteride.
Finasteride is specific for this type of hair loss and not only slows progression but reverses hereditary hair loss as well.
Finasteride is a prescription product and therefore, I suggest you to visit a dermatologist in your region for the needful.

Regards
