General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Ma'am, Hi & Welcome.
Clizapril is not used to treat high cholesterol.
It is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used in the treatment of hypertension. Since your husband seems to be having high BP hence his treating physician has prescribed this medication which has to be taken for life long.
Whereas the medication Atorvastain is used to reduce his high cholesterol level. This medications should also be continued since he is suffering from high BP. Aspirin is anti-platelet drug used as a 'blood thinner". Both these medications are useful in preventing clot formation in the arteries of the heart and brain hence should be taken forever.
Hope this answers your query.
