Is Cipro An Effective Medication For Difficulty In Urination?

My 25 year old son was prescribed Cipro because he has had trouble urinating occasionally, but no pain. The doctor checked his prostate and thought it might be slightly enlarged. He also ordered a blood test. Is Cipro the right antibiotic for this?
