Is Combivent Inhaler A Good Alternative Of Ventolin Inhaler?

my doctor has sent in 4 prior authorizations for Ventalin inhaler and my insurance denied it 4 times. I have been on it for almost 7 years with no problem. They want the generics but we have tried those and they don t work on me. My husband was given combivent would this work in the place of Ventalin?

Brief answer: NO
Detailed answer:
Ventolin (albuterol) contains albuterol which causes bronchodilation. If you are being prescribed only albuterol, then I suppose you are suffering from asthma.
Combinent contains albuterol and ipratropium. Though it contains albuterol, ipratropium is not indicated for asthmatic patients responding to other agents.
I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcare magic. Have a wonderful day.
