Is Cortisone Cream The Right Medicine For Itchy Bumpy Rashes?

I have had bumpy rash and itching for past 4 weeks. I suspected Januvia, which I had just started, was the cause. I stayed off of it for over 2 weeks but rash and itching never cleared up. I tried to resume Januvia this week. Took it on Monday and Tuesday and symptoms are now much worse. I have been using Benadryl orally at night. Also using otc cortisone cream topically. I need help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.

You can use Cortisone cream for local application.

I also recommend you to use antihistamines for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
