Is Demelan Safe And Effective To Lighten Skin Tone And Clear Whiteheads?

I'm from South Africa and have started to use Demelan to make my face the same colour as my body. I've noticed that I have gone darker and that I get Whiteheads on my cheeks. I don't know if this is due to the demelan or that I have started using Yasmin to treat acne. Am I on the right track for clearer skin or should I try a different skin care regiment?
