Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
is the deviry 10mg tablet affect on pregnancy? as i wont to get pregnant as early as, so i went to gynecologist .My periods are regular ,But still Doctor prescribed my Deviry 10mg for 10 days , 1 per day . now due to this my abdominal is paining ,this pain is seem like pain during period . I am scare now ,whether i will get the period instead of pregnancy.
Deviry contains medroxyprogesterone, which is a drug similar to the progesterone that a woman's body produces.
If given 10 days towards the end of the menstrual cycle, it may help stabilize the endometrium and can help a woman have a normal period if she did not conceive this cycle or can help with the pregnancy if she conceived during this cycle. So, it should not negatively affect your periods or pregnancy if this is the case.
On the other hand, there are several causes for low abdominal pain and if the pain is severe, not improved with paracetamol/ibuprofen or it gets continuous, you will need to see your doctor to make sure of the cause of the pain.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
