General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Both diazepam and Ativan (Lorazepam) are benzodiazepines and they are not recommended to be used for longer than 2 weeks as they may cause addiction. Quetiapine, if the doctor has started it, is a better choice as it does not cause addiction.

I hope I have answered your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
