Is Dilantin Effective For Seizures?

GREETINGS,I had two seizures in the past three weeks and was started on 100MG dilantin 3X a day and one Ativan at night. This started yesterday morning. What I haven't told anyone is that I have been taking Tramadol which may have caused the seizures. Can I just take 2 dilantin today and 1 tomorrow as a way to step down from that?
