Hello,

Donepezil is a commonly used first line medication for mild cognitive impairment when due to Alzheimer's. It brings an improvement in cognitive performance slowing down cognitive decline, so it is an effective medication. However, in the long term, it doesn't avoid progression of the condition I am afraid. I remain at your disposal for other questions.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
