Is Doxycycline The Right Medicine For Swelling In The Eyelid?

Hello,

I had an operation on my eyelid last year. I still have swelling on my eyelid and have now been put on Doxycyline.
I have been on this for 2 weeks now but i still have another 4 weeks left. I am experiencing itching all over my body, i have no rash or anything like that just itchy.

Is this a normal side effect?

Thanks in advance!

Dry itchy skin is a sign of Liver toxicity and Doxycyclin may cause it though not as much as Paracetamol does. So if you are taking both and in sizable quantity and duration, go see your Ophthalmologist to change the Antibiotic to specific as the results of culture and sensitivity of your eye discharge would 've come.

All the best.
