Is Fucidin Advisable While On Cephalexin For Skin Burn On The Toes?

I am taking 500mg of cephalexin 4 times a day for second degree burns on my toes. I have only been on the cephalexin for the last 24 hours. I want to also apply fucidin topical ointment to soothe the skin as well. I am also soaking my feet twice a day in epson salts. Can I mix the cephalexin and fucidin?

There is no significant drug interaction between fucidin and cephalexin. Topical application provides a local antibiotic concentration in the affected area, so you can apply the ointment. Some patients may experience an allergic reaction or mild irritation at the site of application. In that case, you should consult your doctor.
