Is GGT Value Of 159 A Cause For Concern?

I recently had blood work done and my results were all normal except my GGT was 159. Can you please tell me what this means and how can I lower it? I recently had ACDF and prior to the disc fusion I was taking alot of pain medications. Now I do still take 2 extra strength Tylenol daily.

Hello,

GGT value of 150 is not significant and does not indicates any specific disease condition. You can go for an ultrasound scan to look for any lesion or problems in the liver.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
