Is Ginette Effective For Acne?

Good afternoon, I was previously on Accutane for my acne problem, my skin became smooth, however after being off the tablet for about 3/4 months I have noticed that my acne is starting to act up a little bit. My doctor has now prescribed the contraceptive pill, Ginette. My question is how effective is this pill? Thank you in advance.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acne on face due hormonal disturbance which are very common in certain age group and occurs due to onset of puberty, hormonal changes and when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. You should get your hormones levels monitored. You can start with Ginette for hormonal stabilization. You should wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day. You should use Isotrentoin on daily basis and wash face with clindamycin gel. Using a combination containing norgestimate is beneficial for you as it will least effects your hormone levels. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist/ gynecologist once . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course. Drink plenty of water and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.
