Is HCG An Approved Treatment For Low Testosterone?
Is HCG an approved treatment for low testosterone? I have had a liver and kidney transplant, I am about to turn 60 and been trying to increase my T levels, they are under 150 and I feel like this could be hendering my return to normal health. I have tried traditional treatments but are concerned about the side effects and have had very little gain. My indurence in just walking has been very slow to incease in duration and distance. Have been trying to regain my body tone for a little over 2 years and have not made much progress in this time.
In men, hCG injections are FDA-approved for a type of hypogonadism in which the body doesn't adequately stimulate the gonads to produce the sex hormone testosterone.
I want to underline that hCG therapy is used for low testosterone patients who need to maintain testicular function. So, this therapy can be helpful only (especially) if you have testicular atrophy and you plan to have children in the future.
So, the hCG treatment is an important hormone for your fertility but it not helpful to regain your body tone.
My advice is to consult physically your treating endocrinologist and discuss with him the most appropriate therapy in your actual circumstances.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
