Is HCG Level Of 80 A Cause For Concern?

My period is irregular, I found out I was pregnant last week and I was in the hospital monday with pain and my hcg came back at 42. On wednesday it was only at 80. Ive been bleeding a few times and have horrible cramps. How far along does this put me at and what does it mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
i would like to know when was your last menstrual period. this would help in knowing the hcg levels for your gestational age. but the hcg levels you have mentioned are pretty low. i would advise an ultrasound abdomen to see if the pregnancy is present or not. there is a high chance of abortion in your case. further management can be done after the ultrasound report has come. do not worry in case of lost pregnancy, nature has its way of choosing the best. hope you are satisfied with the response. thanks for choosing HCM
