Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Unprotected Anal Sex?

Hey, today i had unprotected anal sex with a person who was also using meth. They were "booty bumping" which i have read increases the risk of contracting hiv or any other std. I ejaculated inside of them but the sex only lasted seconds but I still did. Now I'm really worried because of this mistake I made and I was wondering, what can I possible do now? What are my options?

Hello,

Anal sex carries a high risk of transmission of HIV compared to other modes of sex like vaginal intercourse or oral intercourse. If the status of your partner is not known, then try to call that person and find his status if possible.

If you can't find his/her status, then visit a physician or STD clinic and take a proper opinion. Post-exposure prophylaxis can be started if needed in order to prevent the transmission of infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
