Is Haldol Effective In Controlling Anxiety While Suffering From Dementia?

My mother has dementia. Can t find words, talks jibberish, very anxious, scared, confused, knows she is losing her mind. She started getting combative and cussing so they put her on Haldol. Can this make her more paranoid and combative? She is miserable

It can also help prevent suicide in people who are likely to harm themselves. It also reduces aggression and the desire to hurt others. It can decrease negative thoughts and hallucinations.

The drug may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, difficulty urinating, sleep disturbances, headache, and anxiety, etc. It may be side effects to this drug please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
