Is Horizant Advisable For Sleep While On Hydrocodone For Pain?

I am having trouble sleeping due decreasing my daily usage of hydrocodone for pain. I have been given Horizant to help me relax so I can sleep. I get a feeling as if my heart is about to explode out of my chest like drinking to much coffee. Will this help me sleep and if not what should I use?

Hi,

Horizant is having Gabapentin. It is painkiller effective in nerve related pain. It is also causing sedation (sleepiness) as a side effect. So you can definitely take Horizant. It will give you pain relief as well as sleep. If you don't get sleep even after Horizant, better to consult psychiatrist and get done prescription for anxiolytic drugs like Propranolol or Flunarizine combination. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
