Is Hydrocodon -Acetaminophen Effective For Tooth Ache?

I am suffering from terrible tooth ache and took ibuprofen and 1 aleve around 10 and it's now 2:30. I finally have in an took 1 hydrocodon - acetaminophen 5-325 that the dentist prescribed me about a month ago. I never take pain meds but am miserable. Will this be ok?

The most effective toothache medication is a narcotic based analgesic such as codiene, hydrocodone, or oxycodone. Most manufacturers combine the use of over the counter analgesics with narcotics to achieve more effective pain relief.
