I need to know if hydrocodone at 10 mg can be addictive? I take it four to six times a day. My MD is trying Lower my dosage but I find it extremely difficult because the pain is pretty severe. I ve tried tramadol But it offered no relief. I was taken off it when my meds were reviewed . I am extremely frustrated. It seems that my MD keeps cutting meds, but offers no other non-narcotic In its place. I will review any of your suggestions with my doctor. Thank you Carolyn Orlando YYYY@YYYY
Yes, it can be addictive and such long term treatment plan with such dose and frequency is leading to the dependence and addiction. If tramadol alone is not controlling pain, you can discuss to consider for a combination of gabapentin along with tramadol which may help to control the symptoms. If any withdrawal symptoms are suspected, a psychiatrist review is recommended to help you get off it with minimal side effects.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
