Is Hydrogen Peroxide Advisable For A Pus Filled Chalazion?

I have a chalazion on my upper eyelid, i used warm compresses for a week and it helped alot, now i see a dot of puss trying to come out but i dont want to pop it and risk infection. However, i put a little of 3% hydrogen peroxide on a qtip on the puss spot and it felt like it was helping, now my chalazion feels dry and it doesnt hurt at all and i was wondering is the hydrogen peroxid good to do and is it normal for it to dry up?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

While using hydrogen peroxide won't hurt it, I don't know how much it will help either. More important would be to continue to use warm compresses to help it to drain until it completely resolves.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
