Is Ibuprofen Advisable While On Blood Thinners?

Had e.g. knee arthroscopic 3 weeks ago. Last week, developed a DVT behind the knee and my leg swelled up like a tree trunk and the pain is indescribable. Dr. Prescribed Eloquis bid. How long will I need to take. Blood thinners? And I live on ibuprofen. I know I cUt take it with blood thinners. But? Is it OK to take just a small amt a couple times a day pen?

Hello,

This is OK, although the risk of GI bleeding is increased.You could take a PPI (e.g. pantoprazole) prophylactic.

Also, the cause of your DVT is probably the arthroscopy, so blood thinners are only indicated for 3-6 months.
