Is Keflex Effective In The Treatment Of A Toe Infection?

I was prescribed Keflex (Cephalexin) for a toe infection (the PA called it a skin infection) . Dose is three times daily for seven days. I have now taken 8 doses and the redness, pain, swelling, etc. is increasing. When can I expect to see a positive effect from the antibiotic?

Hello,
thank you for using HCM.
Since your sympthoms are worsening despite 8 doses of Keflex, I suggest you to go to your GP today/tomorrow: the antibiotic should give improvements within 24-36 hours since its start, so I suppose that maybe this is not the right antibiotic for your toe infection (because of some possible resistant bacteria).
Regards
