Is Ketoconazole Advisable For The Treatment Of Basal Cell Skin Cancer?

I have basal cell skin cancer and repeatedly have MOHS and burning treatments. My doctor just prescribed Ketoconazole. Every thing I read on the label it is for fungal treatments. I have never been told that I have an issue with ski fungus. This site also said that Vagi Fem and this medication have interactions. What is your view on using the Ketoconazole topical cream for skin cancer?

Hello,

Ketoconazole won't be used for skin cancer if you still have doubt please ask your treating doctor. Ketoconazole will increase the level or effect of estradiol by affecting hepatic or intestinal enzyme CYP3A4 metabolism. Ketoconazole will increase the level or effect of estradiol by P-glycoprotein (MDR1) efflux transporter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
