Is Levoflox Advisable During Pregnancy?

Hello doc....my wife is 2 and half month pregnant. Urine examination showing 8 to10 pus cells /hpf.doctor prescribed her tablet levoflox 500mg and alkasol syrup.plz tell if levoflox is safe for it or should me change the antibiotic.thankx

Levoflox is listed as Category 3 regarding pregnancy--that means there are no reported instances of problems in humans but there was fetal damage reported in animals. If her gynecologist was OK with the antibiotic, it should be fine for her to take it, but, if she were my patient, I would have prescribed amoxicillin instead
