Hello and thank you for using healthcaremagic.
I understand your concern about the medications. The medication provides by your physician work in different ways to get through the
pregnancy without endangering the fetal life. I believe the physician saw some problem in your blood work and
ultrasonography.
Now coming to the medicines :
1. Loprin : it is
aspirin, which prevents clotting of blood and cause fetal defects and death. It is often taken for the entire duration of pregnancy as blood clot in the placenta during any time of pregnancy can be a danger to the fetus. There are a few other diseases also where aspirin is helpful.
2. Duphasten : To maintain viable pregnancy, for the initial 2 months or so,
progesterone is important. Hence duphasten, an external progesterone to maintain pregnancy if the body isn't able to do so . As in later parts, placenta takes over progesterone production in adequate amount. It has very few side effects to be concerned about.
3. Myfol : it is a drug which provides
folic acid, which is essential in the initial stages of pregnancy, to ensure proper growth of nervous system of the fetus. It is most helpful in about the first 4 months of pregnancy. Being a natural product the side effects are almost non existent.
So to summarise, your doctor is taking a multi faceted approach to protect your pregnancy due to some problem he must have detected in your reports.
