Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, MRSA is a contagious disease.
The bacteria responsible for causing (Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus) is usually colonized in the nose, infected wounds like boils, impetigo, and usually resistant to commonly used antibiotics.

Most MRSA infections occur in hospitalized patients or other health care settings, such as nursing homes and dialysis centers.
It spreads by skin-to-skin contact.
At-risk populations include groups such as high school wrestlers, visitors in the hospital, child care workers and people who live in crowded conditions.
Visitors & health care workers caring for hospitalized patients may be required to wear protective garments and must follow strict hand hygiene procedures.
The spread of MRSA can be prevented by:

By disinfecting the contaminated surfaces and laundry items properly
By avoiding sharing personal items such as towels, sheets, razors, & clothes.
By careful hand washing kills most of the germs.
By keeping the wounds covered

Hope this answers your query.
