General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Megace is composed of 'Megestrol acetate', which is a progestin medication which is used mainly as an appetite stimulant to treat wasting syndromes such as cachexia.

Kindly consult your doctor for the appropriate dosage and use of the medication as the underlying condition needs to be assessed clinically before administration of such drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
