Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Anything which will produce effect will have side effects. Common adverse effects include sleep disturbance, loss of appetite, raised blood pressure and growth deceleration, which can usually be managed by symptomatic management and/or dose reduction. You need to visit your psychiatrist and go for regular assessment to see how long medication will be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
