General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Methimazole is a thyroid drug prescribed to lower your hormone function.

Once the thyroid status has been controlled, the fibrillation will settle by itself.

If you experience any symptoms like palpitations, it is better to consult a cardiologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
